Ratliff Stadium – Odessa, Texas

Ratliff StadiumIt’s fall and it’s a Friday, which means it’s high school football game night in the U.S.  And if you are a football fan, I’m sure you’ve read the book “Friday Night Lights” by H.G. Bissinger, or at least heard of it, which follows the Permian High School football team during their 1988 season.  The Permian Panthers (and Odessa Bronchos) play their games, in the middle of a giant concrete parking lot, at Ratliff Stadium.  This stadium also happens to have a very nice track as well.  This high school facility was built in 1982, and has a capacity of 19,500 people!
