The next stop on our Amtrak trip up the Pacific coast to Los Angeles was in the city of Oceanside. Today’s track is inland about a half mile and found at Oceanside High School. This is another really nice high school facility, and this red track also replaced an older dirt track when it was installed a few years ago. Like the previous two tracks in Carlsbad, this one has nine full lanes too. The north D-zone has the red synthetic surface, and that is where the high jump is located. In the south end, two runways for the pole vault can be found. Outside the north end, there are two shot put sectors that face each other. Next to those you also see the two runways for the long and triple jumps. The Pirates track & field teams are lucky to be able to call this their home.
