On our trip to San Diego a couple of weeks ago, we drove out to Point Loma to the Cabrillo National Monument. On our way back, we did a little exploring (unintentionally) and drove by Point Loma Nazarene University which is just off the main road. They also happened to have a very nice track, with an amazing ocean view. The PLNU Track & Field was recently upgraded, and they have a new red synthetic surface that was installed in 2012. The track has eight lanes. The water barrier here is located on the inside, but not that far into the curve. I don’t think I’ve seen one this close to the straightaway before. All of the field events are on the inside as well, and it looks like just one option for all. The Sea Lions women’s team will host three meets here this season. Based on the photos below with the coast just 300 meters away, this would be a pretty nice place to watch a meet.
