Stade Albert Domec – Carcassonne, France

Stade Albert DomecThe next French track in this series is found in Carcassonne at Stade Albert Domec.  This is easily one of the oldest stadiums that I have come across so far.  It opened in 1899!  There is seating here for up to 10,000 people, with a section on both side that is covered.  Besides that, I couldn’t find much more information.

The track has a red synthetic surface.  There are six full lanes here, with two addition lanes added to the main straightaway.  Because lane #6 goes right up to the edge of the grandstand, there is no room for field events outside the track.  All are on the inside.  There is an addition sector for the shot put and one for the discus/hammer throws as well, outside the stadium.

The track also makes a good spot to nap or watch the clouds float by.
