The track at Estadio Jorge “Mágico” González is my first posting from the country of El Salvador. Considered the national stadium, it first opened in 1932 and is the largest in the country. In 2002, it underwent a massive renovation in preparation for hosting the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games. It had previously hosted the games in 1932, 1977, and 1994. The seating was expanded and now holds up to 32,000 people. The blue Tartan track was also installed at this time, which has eight lanes. Space outside lane #8 is limited, so all field events here are contested on the inside of the track. It looks pretty nice, based on the 2011 video below:
