We have an awesome looking track with a new blue surface today. This one is found in Uruguay, and is in the Battle Park area in Montevideo. Pista de Atletismo Darwin Piñeyrúa has a long history, dating back to 1922 when it first opened. A track has been located here the entire time. It was also used for soccer, but now is used just for athletics. The track was cinder until the late 1980’s when its first synthetic surface was installed. In 2004, it was updated with a newer red surface, which was in place until 2013. That is when this new blue track was laid down. There are eight lanes here, and all field events are located on the interior.
