Continuing with this arctic track series, I have a couple more from Russia to post Today’s is a new track found in the city of Naryan-Mar, a small coastal city of 20,000 people. This facility was built in 2009. It has an artificial turf field for soccer in the center. The D-zones are grass with areas for field events. Inside the north end is a large rectangular area that may be a basketball court. It’s hard to tell from the satellite photo. This track is fairly narrow from one side to the other, resulting in long straightaways and tighter curves. The track itself is also very narrow. It’s hard to tell from either photo, but it may have just three lanes.
