After doing some more research, I am convinced that the track that I posted a few days ago from Gratishaugen is indeed the northernmost track in the world. I have found a few more in Norway that are a little farther south, but still above the arctic circle. Today’s track is one of those, and is located in the town of Vadsø. The latitude here is just over 70°. This is another all-weather track, that most likely has six lanes. The area for the high jump in the west end is somewhat unique looking. It’s pretty long and narrow, so jumpers will have to be on the grass for at least part of their approach, no matter what direction the pit is. This is the home facility of Vadsø Turnforening, a community sports club.
