Estadio El Teniente – Rancagua, Chile ‎

Estadio El TenienteToday, I am back in Chile for the next track in this series, and this one is found at Estadio El Teniente.  Originally built in 1945, this stadium has a long history.  It was one of four sites for the 1962 World Cup.  It has undergone several major renovations over the years.  The most recent was just completed this past spring, and it was dedicated in April.  The Google photo appears to have been taken right while they were resurfacing the track.  You can still see a small section of the old red one. But check out the photo below, where you can see the new version.  They now have a fantastic looking blue track!  It has eight lanes.  The D-zones are also gray with the runways marked with the blue.  This one looks awesome.  Like the previous Chilean stadiums, this one was renovated for the upcoming 2015 Copa America.
