It’s back to the warmer climate of South America for the next tracks. I have found several in Ecuador to post, and I’m going to start with Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa. The stadium opened in 1951, and it was expanded in 1977. It looks like a major remodeling project is scheduled for the near future. It’s nice to see that the track will remain after the improvements. The current track look pretty nice though. I really like the alternating red and tan lanes. The field events all fit nicely in the stadium. There is room outside the straightaways for the jump and triple jumps. The other field events are contested on the inside of the track. The plans for the new version of the stadium look fantastic. I’ll have to revisit this locations once it gets completed.
