Continuing with the track series in Venezuela, today’s is found at Estadio Olímpico de la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Like all the previous stadiums, this one was renovated in 2007 for the Copa America. Estadio Olímpico is one of the oldest stadiums in Venezuela, and it has a long history. Construction on this facility was started in 1948, and it opened in 1951. It has been the site of many important soccer matches. It is also used as a major concert venue. The track looks nice, and was resurfaced in 2007 also. It has eight lanes, and most of the field events are found on the inside. This is a colorful stadium and I like the look of the seats that fade from green at the bottom to yellow at the top.
