We have a blue track today from Conference USA. This one is found on the University of Texas – El Paso campus. Like several others in the conference, Kidd Field also has a very long history. It was built in the 1930’s and was a multi-sport stadium. In 1963, the football team left to play in the new Sun Bowl Stadium the was built right next door. Kidd Field has been a track & field-only facility ever since. Several upgrades have been installed over the years, including a video display scoreboard in 2008, and the new blue and gray track surface in 2011. The track has eight lanes, and all field events are on the inside. Last spring, the Miners held two meets here. The conference outdoor championships will be held here in 2015. This looks like one fantastic facility!
