There is a second college in Moorhead, and today’s track is actually just a half mile from the one I posted yesterday. Jake Christiansen Stadium is the home of the Cobbers of Concordia College. A major upgrade to facilities was started here in 2010, with a new artificial turf infield to go with other improvements. The track has a Mondo surface with eight lanes. Like MSU-Moorhead, Concordia also has plenty of space, so they take advantage of that and really spread out the field events. The facility first opened in 1966. There is bleacher seating for 7000
people. Concordia was scheduled to host two meets early in the season this spring, and surprisingly, they were able to get them both in. Reports have it though, the temps for the first meet were in the 30’s and there was still snow on the ground.
