Linford Christie Athletics Track – London, U.K.

Linford Christie TrackThe season finale of The Amazing Race aired last night, and the final three teams flew from London to Las Vegas and the finish line.  because there are many nice tracks in the London area, I’m going to post one today.  Today’s track was renamed in 1993, to honor Great Britain’s 100m gold medalist, Linford Christie (video link of race).  This facility has been here since 1967, when it was a cinder track.  Its first synthetic track surface was installed in 1973, and was most recently resurfaced in 2004.  This is a nice looking track.  All of the field events, except the pole vault, are on the inside.  The Thames Valley Harriers get to call the Linford Christie Athletics Track their home.  Below is a highlight video from one of their meets here last summer:
