With the college season fast approaching its end, I’m going to post a couple local college tracks next. In the Twin Cities metro area, we are fortunate enough to have quite a few really nice tracks. I have previously (and randomly) posted the tracks at Macalester College, Hamline University, Concordia-St. Paul, and the University of Minnesota. Today’s track is found just south of the Twin Cities, and 15 minutes down the road from where I live, and is located on the campus of St. Olaf College. Manitou Track was built after I was competing in college, so I never ran here. It was installed in 1992, and has a Mondo track surface. The Oles hosted two meets here this season, including the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference outdoor championships that just wrapped up yesterday. Men’s results can be found HERE. Women’s results can be found HERE.
St. Olaf has very nice facility. They have nine full lanes here, with alternating yellow and white lane lines. There are multiple options for field events, and they are all very close to the track, on both the inside on outside. And notice the huge shot put area, with four separated rings, outside the east end of the track. I really need to drive down and at least get a workout in on this track sometime this summer.
