With the IAAF World Indoor Championships going on in Sopot this weekend, I thought I would check out the outdoor tracks there to see what they have. The first one I came across is Stadion Leśny, which translates to Forest Stadium. Since the facility is surrounded by forest on three sides, this is a fitting name. This track has been here since the 1920’s. The seating in these unique bleachers can hold up to 5,000 people. Because of the terrain around the track, all field events are contested on the infield, which makes it very nice for spectators. In general, the Forest Stadium of Sopot is just a beautiful setting for a track & field venue. I really like this one.
