The Oceania track series will continue now, moving on to the last remaining country – Australia. There are a lot no nice track here, and I am going to start with one found in Canberra. This track was originally built in 1985, and it was the warm-up track for the National Athletics Stadium located next door. That stadium, now known as Canberra Stadium, removed the track five years later in 1990, making AIS Track the main facility of the Capital Territory.
This is a great design for a track & field facility. I like the blue colored D zones. The field events have lots of different options, including six sandpits for the long and triple jumps. It has eight full lanes, with two extras added to the main straightaway in front of the 5,000-person bleachers.
