I don’t know how it took so long to find a grass track on Google Maps, because they are everywhere in New Zealand. This one today, at Rawhiti Domain, is a little different because of a few upgrades. As you can see, there are few patches of all-weather surface that have been installed. Inside of the south end of the track, there is one area that I’m guessing is used for the javelin approach. The spot next to it most likely used for the high jump. There is also a nice runway for the horizontal jumps outside the track on the west side. It also appears to have a paved runway for the pole vault on the inside, but looks like it might be asphalt. There is a third sand pit on the south end of that runway too. This is the home track of the New Brighton Olympic Athletic Club.
