Today’s track is the home of the Davenport Gorillas. Located in central Washington, this small town of 1700 people has a nice track, and one that is fairly new. It has six full lanes. The long and triple jump runways are located on the inside of the south straightaway, and has installed the track surface in this entire area. Very nice, and something you don’t often see at a high school facility. In the Bing Maps photo of this track, it is all torn up, but I can’t tell when exactly the satellite photos were taken. As far as the Gorillas mascot those, I couldn’t find much history on it, other than it has been the school mascot since the 1930’s.
