The next Minnesota school with a unique mascot is Moorhead High School, and their track is the home of the “Spuds”. Moorhead is located in the Red River Valley which is an area where a lot of potatoes are grown. Obviously, they couldn’t call their sports teams the Moorhead Potatoes, so they went with Spuds instead! Unfortunately, their school logo is a block “M”, rather than an actual spud, and I couldn’t find a picture of an actual mascot. I think something along the lines on a Mr. Potato Head would be fantastic. Regardless, their track & field teams have a nice facility here to train on, as well as for hosting meets.
