About a year ago, as part of the Southeastern Conference track series, I posted the Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium, which is the home of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. Little did I know, at that time, the track was actually undergoing a major renovation. So today I’m going to post the new/updated version of this outstanding track & field facility. This was a decent facility before, with a track surface that was only six years old, but this new one is fantastic. The jumps are located on the inside, as are the throws, except for the shot put. That event have two rings just outside on the west end, in their own area. This is a great design, and another great facility by Beynon Sports. You can see more aerial photos on their Facebook page HERE. There is also a slideshow on the Alabama athletics website HERE.
*Note – Google and Bing maps still have the old track in their satellite photos, but Google does have the work- in progress in their overhead shot, as seen in the small picture here.
