Today, I’m moving to Brasil to post the next few tracks. The biggest meet of the year for masters athletes is starting today, and being a masters 200m/400m guy myself, I am going to be following the competition closely. The 2013 WMA Outdoor Championships are being held in Porto Alegre, Brasil with the first events starting today and running through October 27th. Yes, this is a long meet. Up first we have an 8K cross country race, as well as the multi-events. They both start today, with the decathlon being held on today’s featured track CETE. The decathlon will finish up here tomorrow, and then open events will be contested here starting on Friday. This is actually one of four facilities that will be used for the championships. It looks like CETE will be used mainly for the shorter races and jumps. It is an 8-lane track, and looks nice. I wish I could be there racing. Go Team USA!!!

10/29 Update: Below are some aerial photos taken during the WMA Championships. You can see the brand new surface, ruways, and throwing areas. There is also a four-lane warm-up track on the side. This looks like an fantastic venue. I am personally excited to here about my friend’s experience competing here.
