Today’s track comes via a recommendation from Twitter follower @JohnMelBud and it’s a nice one, with a history of hosting some big meets. Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium is found on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and is the home track of the Jaguars. It was the host site for the 2006 and 2007 USATF National Championships. Prior to that, it was the site of the 1988 Olympic Trials and the 1987 Pan American Games. And this is where the current women’s 100m world record was set in 1988 by Florence Griffith-Joyner. The stadium itself has seating for over 12,000 people, and has a new artificial turf infield that was installed in 2012, after the Google photo was taken.
