Druzhba Stadion – Yoshkar-Ola, Russia

Yoshkar OlaWell, if you are going to post tracks found in Russia, you’ve got to post at least one in the snow, so here it is!  In fact, this is the first one that I have come across where the Google photo was taken in the winter.  Of course you can’t see96_big much in the satellite photo, but this looks like a very nice facility. This is an older stadium that first opened in 1961, but judging by the photo to the right, it has been renovated fairly recently.  Its capacity is 12,000 people.  While used for soccer, this stadium clearly get used for track and field as well.  It has eight full lanes, but has ten on the front straightaway.  The pits for the horizontal pits are right outside and in front of the bleachers.
