Yukon High School was the site of the third and final state championship meet for high schools in Oklahoma. This was the venue for the largest two classes, 5A and 6A, and it is one impressive facility! Wow! There are small colleges that are jealous of the Miners home stadium. Between the three tracks here, I definitely saved the best for last with this one. I know in previous posts, I have stated that for a state championship meet, the athletes deserve to be at a top-notch facility, which should be one of the best in the state, and would most likely be at a college. Just going to another high school wouldn’t be that great, and wouldn’t provide the expected experience. This track however, would be an exception to that rule!
The state meet here took place a week after the other two state meets, and was contested on May 10th and 11th.
