Outdoor track is not only in full swing for colleges, but also high schools in the US. The next series of tracks will be the sites of high school state championship meets for each state. Alphabetically we have Alabama and Alaska first, but I have already posted those tracks previously(AL, AL, AK), so Arizona is today’s pic. John D. Riggs Stadium on the campus of Mesa Community College is the host site for their state meet. It looks like a nice track, with 9 full lanes, and 10 lanes on the straightaway. There is also seating for 1,500 fans. Arizona has four classes for track & field, and here is how they are scheduled for the 3-day meet:
Wednesday, May 8, 2013 Division I & II
Friday, May 10, 2013 Division III & IV
Saturday, May 11, 2013 Division I, II, III, IV
The track at my school in Minnesota is still half covered in snow and ice. It’s hard to imagine a state meet in little over a month. Our teams here haven’t even had an outdoor meet yet!
