My final track of the Caribbean island series is found at Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium, on the island of Aruba. The capacity of this stadium is listed at 5,000. It was last renovated in 1994. From the photo, you can tell that this is not just a soccer stadium with a track around the field. Shot put sectors are painted, and the long jump pits clearly have sand in them and have been jumped into. They definitely use this facility for track & field. Some of the other stadiums I have found, I’m not sure how much they actually get used for track.
And with that, this tropical track series in the Caribbean is finished for now. There are several very nice facilities that I came across and will post in the future. Most likely it will be next year again at this time, when I am getting really tired of the Minnesota winter!
