Moving southeast, the track today comes from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Stade des Martyrs took 6 years to build, and is another stadium in Africa that was funded by China. This is a huge stadium for this region with a seating capacity of 80,000 people. It opened in 1994, and was just renovated a few years ago in 2008. The track layout look very similar to other tracks in Africa, with two shot put areas on the south end facing each other, and high jump area taking the complete north end of the infield.
