Today I move south to the Republic of Congo to find today’s track. Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat is the largest stadium in the country with a capacity of 27,000 people. It was originally built in 1965, and was the host site of the 2004 African Championships in Athletics, so I’m guessing it was renovated sometime prior to that. Very colorful seats are found in the stadium, which is turning out to be fairly typical for this part of the world. A warm-up track is also conveniently located just outside the main stadium.
