I’m going to stay out west, since covering the PAC-12 didn’t last long. As it turned out, there were only three schools that did not have someone representing Team USA this summer in London. So I’m going to the Mountain West Conference next, and am starting with the Air Force Academy.
My initial reaction upon stumbling across this track? One word – “Wow”. If you have been a regular follower of this blog, you know that I’m a fan of the blue tracks. This one however, may be my new favorite. They take the blue to a whole new level with the light blue/dark blue combo. And add to it the blue bleachers and the
blue pits, and you’ve git an incredible looking facility. The renovations of the Cadet Outdoor Track were completed in 2011, and it could not have turned out better. The Falcon track teams couldn’t ask for a nicer home.
One other item to note. There is a Team USA connection to this track that I didn’t know about until now. 1500m runner Jenny Simpson is a volunteer assistant coach here at Air Force.
