La Croix Catelan, Racing Club of France – Paris, France

The second Olympic Games of the modern era were held in Paris, in 1900.  The site for athletics was La Croix Catelan at the Racing Club of France.  It appears that these games were not very organized, and it is still unknown if some of the events were actually official or not.  In looking for information about the track venue, there was little to be found, and what there is seems very confusing.  However, it is noted that there wasn’t an actual track that was used for athletics.  It was a grass field and races were held in an area that was measured out and marked with small trees.
